Step 1: Document Everything

Step 2: Report to Local Authorities
File an FIR at your nearest police station or directly with the cybercrime cell in your city. If the police station doesn't accept your complaint, you can approach the Commissioner or the Judicial Magistrate with a written application letter.
Step 3: Online Reporting
Submit complaints through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) operated by the Ministry of Home Affairs for immediate action. This requires citizen login details and OTP verification after accepting the terms and conditions by clicking the appropriate button.
Step 4: Contact Affected Platforms
Notify banks, social media platforms, or other services where the crime occurred. For incidents involving Bajaj Finance Limited (BFL), a Non-Banking Finance Company (NBFC) and Prepaid Payment Instrument Issuer offering loans, deposits, Bajaj Pay Wallet, UPI, and bill payments, dial their dedicated number.
